Cite some examples of persuasion techniques in TV ads/campaign--- which one uses pathos? logos? ethos?
Ethos is appeal based on the character of the speaker, meaning the more the author or the person used in selling the products like celebrities for example the more the product will sell.. example, when Michael Jordan became the spokesperson for Nike, it was an ethical appeal because it implied that if a person wore that sneaker, they could be as good an athlete as Michael Jordan. ethos also appear on products like the sensodyne toothpaste they used doctors to advertise their product so that consumers would likely believe that it will help them with their gum problems.
ReplyDeletelogos is appeal based on logic or reason it is is based on making a person's life BETTER or EASIER. advertisements that uses logos promisesthat their product is the best, quikiest and more convinient sample of this advertisement is Jollibee "bida ang sarap" their telling that their product is more tastier that others because it is their expert to make make their product the tastiest the spaghettiest... blah blah blah...
pathos is appeal based on emotion it can be positve (more energy mas happy enervon everyday) or negative (more likely in political ads).
logos or logic these are use of facts or data to persuade people. the lines of argument make sense cognitive an example for tv ad is the COMMERCIAL OF ANLENE BY SHARLENE GONZALES its really persuasive for me as a viewer because it shows graphs and facts that gives me an idea about the osteoporosis an its really effective specially for women.
ReplyDeleteETHOS OR ethics this is to perceived credibility of the speaker of the source the best tv ad for this type of persuation process is COMMERCIAL OF ALAXAN BY MANNY P. because we all known that he is good and sports and can endure so much budy pain as a viewer it is effective because they use a person who is reliable and a "possible" user of the said product. and also manny p is popular and idolized by many people specially men who are blue job collar.
last is PATHOS or emotion it targets the emotional respones of the audience for example commercial of tide by vic sotto why there's always a audience and comparing of product? because they want their audience to persuade using audience inside the campaign so that people will buy and the product will demand. they target and strikes the emotion of the viewers/ target market thats why not just one person included in the said campaign.
@ marvy thanks for the participation. I simply understood your points for ethos and logos. As for pathos, there is something missing. You could have added that with Enervon (esp the Enervon Max that we have in the market), the emotion present there is between the love and passion between couple. It describes that with enervon Max mas maganda ang pagsasamahan ng mag-asawa. they gave an emphasis on the "ginseng" as an important ingredient to maintain that they so called "zest". With that i will give you 87%. for the recitation.

ReplyDelete@ angelae good points for logos and ethos. for pathos, if you want to use detergent products, you could have used downy or ariel. if you can recall these products gave a strong emphasis on how a mother takes good care of her children. By means of using fab con to have a comfy feeling of fabric and to protect the children from mosquitoes.. Your participation merits you a grade of 89%, a bit higher tha marvy's because i like the way you incorporate the statistics as a factor to entice the consumers.
